Alumni

It has been a long time coming, but we hope you will agree it was worth the wait. Since the early 1950’s, PLT has published an alumni newsletter that is now transmitted electronically to all alumni. Nevertheless, we knew that we needed a more accessible model to accomodate the alumni across the United States and the world. To meet this challenge, almost two years ago the alumni board of directors decided to develop a new website that would integrate the alumni and active chapter’s web presences, provide a platform to share information and updates on the events and activities of interest to alumni, and link alumni of all generations. We wanted to create a broader and more inclusive approach that would encompass all alumni.

The process of developing this new site was long, but we are excited to launch it now. We hope you will take a few moments to read through the site, update your information, and share updates with classmates you may not have seen for many years, in some cases since graduation. We also want you to offer suggestions about how to improve the website, about new ways to find your brothers, or facilitate personal and professional interactions for both recent graduates and older alumni. Most importantly, you can connect with those who shared your life in its most formative years and reconnect with them today. We invite your participation in this new “outlet” for PLT and for sharing your lives with generations of alumni. We hope you will start now.

The Phi Lambda Theta Chapter of Chi Phi has prided itself on always being at the cutting edge: one of the first non-sectarian, interracial fraternities in the United States, PLT initiated the living-learning concept at Bucknell, supports a “safe house” environment for GLBT students, began and continues to host Special Olympics at the University, and has set a standard for philanthrophy and service at Bucknell and Lewisburg community. We trust that our web page will offer an opportunity to all alumni to explore this new aspect of fraternal life, as we seek to share our unique vision of friendship and brotherhood in a world of disparate cultures, religions, political models, races, and ethnicities. In a small but important way, we now have the opportunity to demonstrate how PLT has shaped our lives and vision of the world.
