Rush 2015 is Underway

With the first week of classes already behind us, Rush is off to a busy start. The brothers of PLT are excited to find another class of men to join the chapter this fall. BBQ’s, multiple meals and even a Slip-‘n-Slide await potential new members at the Chi Phi house.

PLT Wins Big at the 150th Congress

Seven brothers (3 active and 4 alumni) attended the 150th Congress in San Francisco in June. Alumni president brother Tom Deans was also sworn in as the newest Grand Beta. In addition to the legislative session and the committee meetings, brothers worked on increasing alumni involvement and ritual education. Congress also enjoyed a sunset ferry ride across the bay for dinner and drinks.
Most importantly, PLT has won another Gehring Award along with three other national awards!...

2013-2014 Bucknell Greek Awards

At the end of every spring semester, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs hosts an awards dinner to honor the efforts of all the Greek chapters on Bucknell’s campus. The dinner is a chance for the entire Greek community to come together under the common theme of leadership. As with any gathering amongst the PanHellenic and inter-fraternal leaders, the sense of camaraderie in the room was overwhelming.
Our brothers have enjoyed great success at this banquet in the past, and this year was no exception....

Biff Hoffman Minority Lectureship Series 2014

This spring, the Phi Lambda Theta Chapter of Chi Phi at Bucknell University continued its Biff Hoffman Minority Lectureship Series, welcoming onto campus Ernie G, a well-known and widely acclaimed empowerment/comedy speaker. This Minority Lectureship Series has been a staple of the Phi Lambda Theta Chapter for many years, and each year is an opportunity to expose the campus to issues dealing with diversity, and stimulate discussion on how to improve both our chapter, and the university as a whole....

Special Olympics 2014

Every spring semester, the brothers of Chi Phi and the sisters of Kappa Alpha Theta work with the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania to host a swim meet at Bucknell. Over 50 special needs athletes from five counties competed in a wide variety of individual and team-based swimming events while parents, coaches, and volunteers (including 75 of our brothers) cheered them on.
The goal of the event is to empower individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities to reach new heights, build friendships with Bucknell students and their peers, and to have fun....

2014 Executive Election Results

Phi Lambda Theta held its executive and committee chair elections on the 10th and 17th of November. The elections were a marathon event as they took a total of seven hours on the 10th and five on the 17th. It has been a lengthy process in the past but is of utmost importance to the success of the chapter. All terms will begin in January and will continue until the end of 2014 Fall Semester....

Homecoming Weekend 2013

Bucknell hosted Homecoming Weekend on campus from October 25th through the 27th. While there was no extravagant tent party hosted for the alumni on the quad like last year, the Phi Lambda Theta chapter of Chi Phi provided a weekend full of excitement for actives and alumni alike.
The actives welcomed alumni back to the house starting as early as Wednesday with many more coming in during the end of the week....
